10-14 December 2024 Palacio de Congresos de Granada
The dinner will take place at La Chumbera Restaurant on Thursday 12 December.
The Alhambra is a fortress and palace complex located on the Sabika hill, close to the city centre of Granada. It was built in the 13th Century during the Muslim ruling of Al-Andalus, although the various historical periods left their
footprints, notably the Renaissance-style place of Charles V. It is one of the main touristic attractions in Spain and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and second most visited monument in the country only behind the Sagrada Familia.
Outside the Alhambra walls and located nearby, is the Generalife, former summer residence of the Sultan and his family, which is also surrounded by historic orchards and beautiful gardens of modern construction.
We're organising a tour on Saturday morning for which we have allocated a number of tickets (price of a ticket is around 20€, paid at the entrance). If you're interested in attending, please make sure to specify it during the registration. Also note
that punctuality in access to the Nasrid Palaces is very important, as the number of simultaneous visitors is strictly limited.

Located 33 km from Granada (about 45-minutes drive), is the ski station of Sierra Nevada. Its peaks are the highest in the Iberian Peninsula, with more than 20 mountains exceeding an altitude of 3000 metres (1.9 miles), making it a unique
destination for skiers thanks to it relatively mild weather. The Mediterranean conditions make it more of a late-winter station (typically January-March), although occasionally the snow conditions during December are good enough to ski (you
can check the snow conditions in advance here: https://sierranevada.es/en/invierno/the-ski-resort/live/snow-report/). Price for a one-day
ticket is around 60€ (although it varies significantly) but there are multi-day passes that can be purchased in advance.
Skiing equipment can be hired at the station at very reasonable prices, and there's also plenty of skiing schools that offer training ranging from first-goers to expert skiers and snowboarders. You may get there using private transport
(underground parking available at the station) or by bus, from the Paseo del Violón (next to the Palacio Congresos, the meeting venue) leaving at 8:15, 10:30 and 17:30 and returning at 16:00 and 18:30.
